Revitalization & Regeneration

MARKET SQUARE in Wroclaw

The main idea behind the Walbrzych ‘Market Square' project was to modify and improve the city transport system and to create a central meeting place in the historic part of town. The regeneration of the old Market Square included new stone flagging, the reconstruction of all the tenement facades and a proposal for a new fountain, lighting system, landscape and street furniture.
Awards: First prize for a design concept granted by Walbrzych City Council; 'Construction of the Year' and 'Revitalization
of the Year' granted by PZITB
(Polish Construction Institute).

QUALA in Erbil (iraq)

‘Quala' is the name of an architectural and urban design scheme related to the place bearing that very name in Erbil, the fourth largest city in Iraq, with a population
of approximately 1.3 million. The concept included the protection of the historic Quala
by way of a new Master Plan's approach:
the replacement of the central distributor of the ring road traffic system and a hierarchical network of existing and proposed streets. Architectural reconstruction was made on the basis of historical sources. Collaboration: architect Hasan Al-Dabbagh.

PSIE BUDY STREET SECTION in Wroclaw

‘Psie Budy' street is located next to the Wroclaw old town - the small market square (Plac Solny)  and the main market square (Rynek). The form of the proposed building refers to the shape and the scale of the 17thand 18th century historic tenement buildings. Behind the facade of five newly-built terraced houses we have hidden one modern hostel. The use of different façade materials, namely stone, brick, wood and metal cladding, causes diversity. The glazed ground floors
and the entrance zone 'invite' guests inside
the hostel.
